في هذا الكتاب يتوقف الباحث عند موضوعة الجسد ليدرس حضوره في الأعمال
الروائية التي كتبت عن الحرب. فيحدد بدايةً عدداً من الخصائص المادية المميزة
للجسد )البدانة والنحول، العضلات، الهشاشة والقوة، العيون، اللحى والشوارب(
إضافة إلى خصائص الجسد المُحَيوَن والجسد المنتهك أو الميّت، ثم يحلّل هذه
لقد غدت العدميةُ الفلسفةَ التي « : الخصائص في الأعمال المدروسة ليختم بحثه بالقول
يتبناها الروائيون السوريون في تعاملهم مع الجسد. وهذا أمرٌ لا غرابة فيه بعد ما آل
.» إليه وضع السوريين ووضع أجسادهم في واقع الحرب التي تعيشها بلا
