Ce livre propose un ensemble de réflexions sur le rôle de l'image dans le contexte de la connaissance scientifique. Il interroge pour ce faire des images d&#8217;astronomie, de mathématiques, de physique, de mycologie, de médecine, etc.&#60;br /&#62;
L&#8217;image y est comprise comme étant simultanément un mode d&#8217;appréhension du monde, un lieu d&#8217;exercice de l&#8217;imagination mais également le lieu d&#8217;inscription et l&#8217;arrière-plan nécessaires à l&#8217;émergence des formes symboliques.&#60;br /&#62;
Les images sont source d&#8217;extase mais elles sont aussi des lieux d&#8217;exercices rhétoriques, des actes dialectiques. Elles agissent et organisent le flux de notre expérience, en particulier lorsqu&#8217;il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;expérimentation scientifique.&#60;br /&#62;
Si une image n&#8217;est pas nécessairement une preuve d&#8217;existence, elle a cependant de multiples rapports avec le fait d&#8217;être et donc avec la vérité.&#60;br /&#62;
