It results from a collaborative project between several universities internationally, coordinated at the University of Louvain. The corpus contains over 1 million words, of which almost 800,000 were produced by learners, representing 11 different mother tongue backgrounds: Bulgarian, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Spanish and Swedish.</P> 03 <P>The Louvain International Database of Spoken English Interlanguage (LINDSEI) is a corpus of informal interviews with higher intermediate to advanced learners of English.
