Issue 26 of ABE Journal opens with a Dossier on women's agency in architectural and spatial production in Andean America from the 15th to the 19th centuries. Read More
This is the first time the theme section in our journal reaches back beyond the 19th and 20th centuries, and focus on what our guest editors conceptualize as "the Andes," a geographical, geopolitical and cultural region that has been somewhat of a blind spot in built-environment production journals of international scope. The set of articles collected allow us to explore questions around the language(s) of architectural history writing and the marginalization and relative invisibility of the architectural histories of certain geographical-linguistic regions within global and especially Anglophone contexts.
